Question
I was looking over a one year-old blood test and I noticed I had several outliers that the doctor never addressed. Most concerningly was my MPV, which has the range of 7.2-9.4 on the results page and 7.0-12.0 according to a website on the internet. My MPV was 6.8 (& Plt was 197). My WBC was 10, RBC was 5.27, and Hgb was 16.2 (all on the high side). Should I be concerned for leukemia (possibly early symptoms) or any other pathology?

Answer
Hello Ryan:

I apologize for the delay in answering, due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to attend to your question.

Your results are normal and there is no connection to leukemia. You should go with the range provided in the lab report as these are arrived at as an average of a given set of normal population. What you saw on the net may not be specific to your area / lab
