Question
My pathology. From my egd says focally; a few brunners glands are noted. Specific microorganisms are sought but not recognized. Post op diagnosis esophagitis and gerd rule out celibacy disease

Answer
Hello Jessica

Brunner's glands are normally present in the duodenum (small intestine) The report indicates there is some inflammation ofthe oesophagus. I am not sure what "celibacy disease" is"

GERD: is gastrointestinal reflux disease, whihc menas you have reflux of acid from the stomach back into the oesophagus whihc can explain inflammation in the oesophagus.

Treatment is usall lifestyle and diet modification. If that does not help sometimes surgery is required.
