Question
My daughters lipase no was 6  , and she had been having stomach problems
for a week the dr.said that no was normal, it seems low to me.
Should I be concerned?

Answer
Hello Sandy:

The level is within normal range though on the lower side ( range is 0-160) It is not a cause of concern. Low levels can be seen in pancreatic disease which can damage cells producing the enzyme.

Why was the test performed in the first place. As long as it is within the range no worries. Your doctor may recommend a retest at some point of time if levels rise or fall
