Pathology/Compound melanocytic nevus

Question
I had a mole removed and the report came back as this. Now I am having a surgery consult to cut this out. Is this necessary. Is this bad?

Answer
Hello James:

Compound melanocytic nevus is generally a benign mole, however it may have some atypical cells which are neither normal cell nor clear cut cancer cell but lie somewhere in between.
For this and to check how the margins are, clear of the nevus or not it is best to have it removed completely
