Subject: What exactly is said in this line during Pearl Jam's "Wishlist"?

Question
There is a line at the end of "Wishlist" that goes
"I wish I was the radio song, the one you couldn't turn off. I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I guess it never stops."

Please do not simply post lyric websites. This line tends to differ between these sites, examples include:
"the one that you couldn't turn up"
"the one that you turned up"

The song can be played at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r01YiEgNa0 .

It is at the very end of the video, at 3:23.

Answer
Hi David,

You're right, different websites post slightly different lyrics. And to make things more complicated, when the band plays the song live, Ed sometimes improvises or changes the lyrics, too. (Like in the video you saw on You Tube where it sounds like he's singing "you couldn't turn up (or off, maybe?)").

I have always known to lyric to be: "I wish I was a radio song, the one that you turned up".  And if you go to www.pearljam.com, they show that the studio version of the lyrics are "I wish I was a radio song, the one that you turned up".  So those are the official lyrics that I'd go by.

Hope that helps!
Keep Pearl Jamming,
-Sarah
