Pediatric Dentistry/Root canal on a 4 year old

Should a 4 year old get a root canal ? If she doesn't could it impact her permanent teeth ?

First we do not do root canels on baby teeth. We do a procedure that removes the infected nerve tissues called a pulpotomy or pulpectomy. It is important to prevent damage to the developing tooth underneath. So it is important to prevent this damage. Also it is important to maintain the tooth to hold space for the new tooth. So pulling may not always be the best option
