Question
I am in the nursing program and I am getting my BS in nursing. Will I still be able to become a Pediatrician?

Answer
hi kenyatta,

in order to become a physician, you must apply for and complete medical school. then, you would apply for and complete a pediatrics residency training program. you can still become a medical doctor. my suggestion is to complete the necessary prerequisites:

1 year of english
1 year of general biology
1 year of general chemistry
1 year of organic chemistry
1 year of general physics
1 year of advanced mathematics

check with the aamc and medical schools for requirements. they may request more advanced courses.

you can also try to apply for a nurse practitioner program and complete a pediatrics or family practice np residency thereafter.
