Question
I have a 3 month old baby boy this morning when I changed his pamper I noticed yellowy stickey discharge in his pamper changed him again and it was there again!  he is not circumcised and I am a little worried !  just wonderin is I should be worried or if its nothing to worry about?  also wonderin after he is bathed can you put children polysporn on his penis?   thank-you!!!

Answer
Dear Staci:

I would be concerned about a yellow sticky discharge esp if it is coming from the tiny opening in the penis.  Do you see any sores or abrasions?  I would have him checked out by a doctor if it persists because the discharge could be pus or sign of an infection.  I would not put anything on the penis in the way of ointment until he is examined by the doctor as you don't know what you are treating.
