QUESTION: My son is diagonised with global mental delay.
All is chromosome & MRI test comes normal.
What are his medical options?
ANSWER: one needs to see if the delay is causing some disability, if theer is any disability or handicap, one has to see if any modification can be done for better functioning. the reason for evaulations is mainly to see if any enzyme defect has resulted in it, which may be completely curable.

What exactly is enzyme reaction?
tests: will be decided by teh devlopmental and genetic specialist depending on the clinical diability and examination findings. the evaluations may be from anywhere between urea cycle enzyme defects to storage diseases. clinicla examination, fundus examination,s erum lactate, pyruvate, ammonia may give clue.
I feel, you need to specify great details of history including age and examination findings, or better get evaluated by your doctor in details.
also ask for an occup[ational therapy evaluation.
