Question Dear Sharon
I have an 12 months old baby who is not eating well, he only eats purity but can eat up to 125ml at a time. I am worried as he is slow at gaining wait. What can i do?
Answer Hi Noxolo,
I'm afraid that I'm not a dietitian or a physician, so I'm not really in a position to advise you about your baby's weight gaining.
You mention that your baby is eating only pureed foods, though most 12 months old are searing textured foods as well. Have you tried to get your baby to chew alittle on foods that are soft -- like a banana? You might want to give him some other chunkier soft fruits as well -- like a strawberry, or some lumpy applesauce -- that he might enjoy. Does he ever like to chew on a piece of bread? What about a little cookie or biscuit?
If you feel at all worried about your son's weight gain, please be sure to discuss this with your baby's pediatrician.
Best of luck!
