Pediatrics - sporadic breathing pattern

Question Ever since my 5 month old got over a cold 3 weeks ago, when she has episodes in which she softly cries in her sleep as she is stopping she takes deep sobbing breathes and then stops breathing for about 5 to 7 seconds then gulps for air. This will go on for about 1/2 hour. She was not premature but was taken to NICU immediately after birth because of possible inhalation of fluid causing some kind of sound when breathing but was deemed fine after 2 hours but she has always had sinus congestion since. I have had an uncle that died at 5 months from SIDS and my father has sleep apnea. Do I need to worry or have my daughter checked out? Thank you so much!
Answer well, i find it quiet often due to a abd dream ro just following a nose/throst infcetion, an attempt to swallow a post nasal drip. in medical terms cessation fo bretahing more than 20 seconds is considered seriously. try making her sleep in lateral postion, you may find this disappearing.
