We have a 9 month old(9.360 kgs) baby girl who has been suffering form fever for past 60 hrs. we have been giving her crocin suspension every 4.5 - 6 hrs as the fever crosses 100F. Fever remains in control for 4-5 hrs after the crocin dosage but starts shooting up again. for past 48 hrs loose motions have also started which has worsened her condition. However there is no weight loss in past 3 days. we even got her urine tested for a possible infection which has come as negative. since lastnite cough is also adding to her uneasiness.
pls suggest whether giving such regular crocin dosages would have any side effects. Also pls suggest in any other tests are to be conducted.
BR,
Rahul
Answer well, if you need to give grocin for 3 days round teh clock, i feel she needs a visit to an emergency unit or hospitalisation.
do read the danger signs at www.pediatricianonline.in
crocin drops can cause sideeffects but if given 4-5 times a day for more than 2 days or when the dose is exceeded than recommeded.
you have not detailed about loose motions.. however you may read further about loose motions at my site or at www.rehydrate.org
keep a watch on feeding and urine. if both are compromised to a significnat extent, she cant be managable at home.
