Question my son is 30 months and as many pounds. he got what appeared to be a spider bite today at day care that has produced swelling to the hand and fingers. i have given him benadryl and tried to ice the hand but swelling continues.
Answer Hi, james,
Certain spider bites, like the black widow, can cause considerable tissue swelling and even damage. Most do not. Keep on using the ice and the benadryl and if this doesn't work and the area seems to be breaking down, see your doctor. The swelling alone doesn't worry me.
