Pediatrics/constant complain of pain in belly button area

Hello doctor,
I'm a very worried mother about my 6yr old son's stomach pain.He always complains about stomach pain exactly in his belly. Every morning while starting to school (7.30am), sometimes at lunch time(12.30), sometimes after returning home (3.30). he is in normal height n weight. im so avoiding outside food, but still he has.i hv consulted a pediatric gastro, he says its just an infection...but how can this pattern be so daily?
His food pattern is as follows, (for ur better undertsanding)
Complan 1 cup milk
breakfast: idly 2/ dosa 1/ pongal /idiyappam/ bread with peanut butter
snacks at school: 3 biscuits/ bread/ flavoured yoghurt
lunch : rice- curd + veg/ variety rice +papad/ idly 3+ curd/ chappati + curd
after returning from school (3.30pm) : dhall rice  with veg
evng: pediasure 1 cup milk
night: adamant to eat 2 chappati with vegetable gravy + 5 spoons curd rice.
Basically he is a very timid, fearing kid n has thumb sucking issue. he immediately gets frightened n cries for our slightest raise of voice. He just dislikes going to school n cribs every morning while waking up.this cribbing is there right from his nursery till today (almost for 5yrs). He is a kind of people pleaser natured.
I think i hv elaborated whatever i wanted to convey u. Please suggest whether he has health issues or psychological issues n what should i do. Please help doctor.

Hi Ghomathy,

I am sorry for replying so late...I was busy elsewhere...

Your child has "Recurrent Abdominal Pain (RAP)" something that is not uncommon at all. I needs to be dealt with patiently, as there may be many factors involved. For example, thumb sucking increases chances of infections. I think he needs to be evaluated in detail by his pediatrician. Please consult his pediatrician.

Best wishes,

I would be happy to answer general queries on prevention and treatment of ailments in newborn, infant, toddler, child or an adolescent. Needless to say, it will not be possible to answer any query that requires diagnosing, since it is not possible to examine a child online.
