Subject: baptism

Question
I never said that being baptised saves you, I said it was essential to God's plan of salvation. But you never said why Jesus himself got baptised, you only reverted back to Corinthians. Tell me why Jesus who knew no sin got baptised.

Answer
Are you asking this question because you don't know the answer?

If so, Jesus was baptized (not to get His sins washed away).

It was an example for us to follow.

Have you been baptized? If so, why don't you follow Hebrews 6 where it says to leave these elementary principles (which include baptism) and move on to other things. It never ceases to amaze me how those who believe baptism is "essential to salvation" just camp out on this subject with those of us who have already been baptized.

I never said it's not important. I disagree with your theory that it is "essential."

Bottom line, what you are saying is those who have died without being baptized are burning in hell. If this is not what you mean, then you better drop the word "essential" when it comes to salvation.

Jesus saves...not baptism.
