Peoplesoft - Actions & Empl Status

Expert: Peter Choi - 9/9/2009

Question
Peoplesoft V8.8 SP1 PeopleTools 8.46.04
I have set up a new 'Action' in the Translate Table.  I have also set up a reason code in the action/reason table.  I cannot find how/where you map the 'Action' to set the employee status for that action.  For example: when you enter an action of TER (Terminated), the empl_status is set to T (Terminated).

Answer
Hi Harold,

In HRMS, the action and empl_status are tied together by the peoplecode (example: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13292_01/pt849pbr0/eng/psbooks/tpcl/book.htm...)

So when you hire a new employee onboard, it sets various status flags (such as active). This can trigger the start of other workflows, such as payroll, benefits, etc.

Hope this helps.

Peter
