Question
In what order should tables be imported when copying the configuration for Payroll Interface from one environment to another?  I exported from one and imported to another but a few fields did not have the data expected when I was done.  A PI_DEFN_RECORD row did not have the PI_INSTANCE_ID updated.  Also the PI_FIELD_TBL row did not have the values PS_FIELD2_NUM and PS_XLAT_IND that I expected to see.

Answer
It should not matter unless you are using Component Interface.  I use Datamover and below is an example that has worked correctly for me.

set output C:tempmbowdenPIEXPORTHRTEST.dat;
set log C:tempmbowdenPIEXPORTHRTEST.log;

EXPORT PI_SYSTEM_TBL  where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_SYSTEM_LANG where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_SYSTEM_STAT where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;

EXPORT PI_PS_RECORD   where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' ;
EXPORT PI_PS_REC_LANG where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' ;
EXPORT PI_PSREC_FLD   where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' ;

EXPORT PI_FIELD_TBL   where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_FIELD_LANG  where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_FIELD_XLAT  where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;

EXPORT PI_INSTANCE_TBL where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_INSTANC_LANG where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_INST_VALUE   where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;

EXPORT PI_GROUP_TBL  where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' ;
EXPORT PI_GROUP_LANG where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' ;

EXPORT PI_CONFIG_TBL  where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_CONFIG_LANG where PI_CONFIG_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_CONFIG_FILE where PI_CONFIG_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;

EXPORT PI_DEFN_FILE   where PI_SYSTEM_ID = 'ADPW' and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_DEFN_RECORD where PI_FILE_ID in ('ADPW','ADP2','ADP3','ADP9') and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT PI_DEFN_FIELD  where PI_FILE_ID in ('ADPW','ADP2','ADP3','ADP9') and EFFDT = mm-dd-yy??;
EXPORT FILE_HANDLE_TBL where FILE_HANDLE in ('T1','T2','T4','T9');

Convert the same script to a combination of Delete commands to remove the prior entries and an Import command to bring in the replacement rows.
