I can answer questions I know from my relevant successful experience that the answers are certainly true. For example, one of my team members comes up to me and asks me how to change password of a PeopleSoft user bob101. I tell him to login the super user account of the PeopleSoft software available for our team to experiment with. Then click on GO -> PEOPLETOOLS -> SECURITY ADMINISTRATOR. Then select FILE -> OPEN while in the Security Administrator window. Type in bob101 in the dialog box and click ok. Then in the general view of the operator definition, change bob101 password and save. I know that he will certainly change the password because I have done the same many times before. On the other hand, I can`t answer questions I hope that the answers are probably correct because I do not have any relevant successful experience to back it up. If I did not successfully change password of a given PeopleSoft user, I would not answer my team member question. I would not tell him to click GO-> PEOPLETOOLS and then in the general view of the operator definition, change bob101 password and save. Then I hope that he will do it successfully. There are immediate steps essential to the task of changing passwords I miss to tell him because I have never changed passwords successfully before. In this case, I would recommend him to a person who successfully changed passwords in the past.
