Perennials - trimming evergreen bushes

Question
could you please tell me the best time to trim evergreen bushes?  I know that you trim azaleas' in late spring and early summer since i have them planted together would it be possible to trim them together?

                            Thanks

Answer
Tammy,

March or early April is the best time to trim evergreens before new growth appears. They can be trimmed at any time, but early spring is the most accepted and convenient time.

Trees and shrubs with needles are what we generally consider evergreens. Rhododendrons, azaleas, and euonymous are evergreens, but these broadleaf varieties should be trimmed after they blossom.
