Question
Greetings Saeed,

I do hope all is well with you.

قورینا and سیرن are given here as Persian names for Cyrene, the famous “Athens of Africa”. Apparently کرینا also exists.

How should I pronounce these words, please?

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon

Answer
Hi Simon,
I hope you are well.

Cyrene (سیرن) = siren - i as in "is, ink"
قورینا = ghoorina, ق (gh) is an Arabic and Persian character. I guess there is no sound like ق in Englih. But I guees you can pronounce it because you live in Turkey.

Best
