Question
QUESTION: Dear Saeed,

How are you? In the best of health, I hope.

I'm never sure how to say “a Shia Muslim” and “a Sunni Muslim” in Persian.

Please translate this simple sentence for me:
Ali is a Shia Muslim, not a Sunni Muslim.

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon

ANSWER: Hi Simon,
I do hope all be good with you.

We usually omit the Muslim and simply say Shia or Sunny.

your sentence:

QUESTION: Many thanks again, Saeed.

Can you make these words plural in the normal way?

Can I say this, for example?
The Sunnis are more numerous than the Shiites.

Also, how do you say, "Sunni Islam" and "Shiite Islam", please?

Best

Simon

Answer
Hi Simon,
You should say:

we also use شیعیان instead of شیعه ها

Best
