I am humbled and honored everytime I am selected to help injured people. And when people give feedback that they have benefited from my experience and current volunteer efforts, then that is a double honor and award for me.
I was involved in an auto mobile accident in 2/2005. I had a non binding arbitration on early march 08, where me my lawyer and the other lawyer came to an agreement. I was called into my lawyers office to sign a release statement on 4/3/08. My lawyer told me it would take up to 30 days or 4 weeks. This past Thursday made it 5weeks. I have called my attorney to find out what was going on, but his secretary told me she had been in contact with the other attorney and they said they haven't received anything from the insurance company. I am starting to get worried not. Does this usually takes this long or what is the normal wait on settlement payments.
Thanks in advance for your help
Answer Hi From New Jersey,
I am Morgan Jacobsen, a personal injury attorney at www.SettlementCentral.Com
I will answer your question inasmuch as Dr. Settlement has had an unfortunate hospitalization and emergency surgery, and he will not be back for a couple of weeks.
We are ALWAYS amazed at how long it takes some companies to send out their checks and release documents. Three to four weeks following arbitration is usual. But I would not worry at all about five or six weeks since you have the award in writing and you can enforce it at any time.
Sorry for the delay on our end, and best wishes from Dr. Settlement and me,
Ms. Morgan Jacobsen, J.D. (Juris Doctor)
