My son-in-law's brother is deaf, married (wife is partially deaf) and have 2 children.
They are in debt with credit cards and seem to have no understanding of finances or credit cards and even have been the victim of a scam promising money.
My son-in-law, his mother and her parents have all helped financially and have tried to restrict their use of credit cards, but the couple seems to be ignorant on these matters.
Is there any group or organization that will work with the deaf regarding finances. My son-in-law has spent quite a bit of time working with them, but they find ways to get a new credit card and plead ignorant to opening a new card. The couple are about forty to sixty thousand in debt.
thanks for any assistance you can provide
bob
Answer HI, Mr. Mueller
There may be no such organization that can communicate to deaf people regarding debt issues.
If they do have VP (Videophone), they can call me at 301 718 0604 via VP and I will see what is the real problem. Then I can see what can be done.
The last, but best solution is to file for a bankruptcy and to start a clean slate from now on. However, I have to find out the real problem first.
