Personal Investment & Financial Planning Q`s - IRA Roth

Expert: Louis Schwarz, QFP, CFP®, RFC®. ChFEBC - 3/8/2009

Question
I had opened up a retirement fund with T.Rowe Price last year for $4K and it seems that the value now is around $2K.

Since I am investing in IRA for the first time, it was a bad experience and decided to close the account.  T. Rowe withheld 10% for tax purpose.  I got my check but didn't receive any other paperwork.  How do I file my 2008 income tax? I plan to do it myself to save money.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi, Lucy

You should receive the form 1099R from T Rowe PRice where it will tell you how to fill out in your income tax return. If it happened in the year 2009, that means you have to wait till next year. If the withdrawal was made last year, please contact T Rowe PRice.

Regards,
LJS
