Question QUESTION: Mr. Smith,
First I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this question. My question is what bachelor's degree should I pursue business finance or business accounting? I am three months from completing my associates degree in business and I need to know what bachelors degree would hold more value. My career goal is either to work my way to a CFO position or financial analyst. Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
ANSWER: Hi. If you desire is to pursue a CFP position or analyst position them I would pursue the business finance vs accounting degree. AS you start your career, you may then find that pursuing specific desigations such as the CFA (for financial analyst) or obtaining a further degree in other specific areas of finance makes sense. I hope this helps and good luck!

QUESTION: Thank you for your answer it is extremely helpful. I have one other question for you. I am receiving my associates degree from the University of Phoenix. Do you think they have a good reputation or will I have a problem with finding a job because of where I have obtained my degree? Nearing my bachelors degree I have a choice to transfer or continue with the University of Phoenix. Thank you again for you time.
Answer Hi. Since I am not too familiar with University of Phoenix it is hard for me to answer this question. I would go to a book store and take a look at any number of books that rate schools based on area of study, etc. Also, I would ask the admissions dept for information in regards to students that graduate and their success in getting jobs. I hope this helps.
