Personal Investment & Financial Planning Q`s - becoming a Registered Investment Advisor

Expert: Bruce Julien - 9/21/2009

Question

My passion is stocks and bonds. I've invested for 45 years. I'd near selling my businesses. I'd like to become a Registered Investment Advisor in WI, and perhaps later, FL.

Can you tell me how to obtain materials that would allow me to study for exams, etc...?

I was on AllExperts for five years helping people. I respect this site.

My spam filter may stop you from reaching me. If you care to call me at  before sending that may be helpful, else I'll just monitor my spam filter.

Thank you,

Victor Mader

Join an existing RIA firm. If your passion is stocks and bonds, you will hate having to do all the compliance and administrivia involved with setting up and maintaining a firm. If you find you love it all and want to run your own show unfettered, you can always branch out on your own. You will need a local firm hat will allow you to manage money yourself, not sell a prepackaged allocation or rotation formula. The local firm will get you licensed.

I would not start from scratch myself, today, I would do what I told you. I did it the other way years ago, but it was a different ballgame then.

What did you consult on as an expert on the sitE

Bruce
