There are no set steps in a process to get a personal loan.  There are certian criteria, or items that are used to qualify a person, but they vary from lender to lender, and can change depending on the situation.
You need a fairly good credit history, a good job history, enough income to support paying all your monthly debt, and have a good residential history.
Contact a local bank or credit union and they can get some basic information from you and tell you what you will need to qualify for the loan you are looking for.
