About Stephen Vantassel
Expertise
I was a professional animal damage controller. If you are having problems with squirrels, raccoons, beavers, moles, voles, etc. damaging your property, I can help give you information to resolve that damage. I was an assistant editor for Wildlife Control Technology magazine and have published numerous articles as well as two books in this field.

Experience
Former assistant editor for Wildlife Control Technology; Master's degree in Hebrew Bible (yes I am licensed minister), Past New England Director for the National Wildlife Control Operator's Association. I have published two books, The Wildlife Removal Handbook (rev. ed) and the Wildlife Damage Inspection Handbook, and numerous articles. Perhaps a highlight was making the cover of Wildlife Control Technology. I have debated a noted animal rights activist in my own state of Massachusetts on radio and TV. http://icwdm.org

Subject: 2-3 inch holes in yard, San Antonio, Texas

Question
Just a couple days ago, we spotted two holes in our front lawn about 2-3 inches wide, and we're curious as to what could have dug them. Any ideas what would be common for our area that might have done this? I know there are armadillos, skunks, and squirrels here, but we haven't seen a single one in our neighborhood since we moved here 1 1/2 yrs ago. Possible it could be one of those even though we haven't seen any here? Also they are not near the house, but rather close to one of our trees (also only about 1 1/2 old). It seems funny that it would be frogs doing this, but those we have seen a few of here lately. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ::Laura::

Answer
Unfortunately need more information. Are they true holes as in they disappear or are they merely scooped out depressions?

When do the holes occur day or night?
What animals do you see during the day? Further needed details and images can be seen at http://www.icwdm.org/Inspection/outdoorsstep.asp
