This appeared in a tree about 35 feet above the ground. Is it an active hive being built? We just spotted it and haven't walked near the tree to see if there are any bees about.
Answer Hi Carol. I'm not really sure what this is. It almost looks like one of those plastic bags maybe blew up in the tree, got caught on the branch and maybe filled with some water during a rain to make it 'poofy'. But it is the right color for some honeybee nests I've seen built in the open lately. I do not believe it is bald faced hornet. Can you get a side shot of it? And zoom any closer? I'm curious now -lol! Jule
