Question I need some advice. I have several large hedge hogs cleaning out my tomato garden. They eat the whole plant as well as all the tomatoes. How can I control them?
Answer I'm sorry but I have no experience with hedgehogs as they aren't native to the U.S. By hedgehog you mean the a real hedgehog and not a woodchuck (maromota monax) or other ground squirrel where people in your area may call it a hedgehog even though it isn't. Sort of like the way people call moles, gophers, even though it is a mole and not a gopher.
I would have to look up the species if it is the true hedgehog. There may be some material on hedgehogs in our digital commons at the http://icwdm.org Go to publications, then to research-wildlife damage then click Digital commons.
You can contact me at work on monday, and I will look into it.
