Question What are the possible risks of stopping an antibiotic (minocycline) before finishing it's doses due to adverse effects. The ongoing dosing of Bactrim would be completed. My daughter is being advised to do this and I would like to understand the facts better
Answer Dear Jessie
There are no risks whatsoever but she may need to substitute with another antibiotic depending on the infection especially if it is acne. The rule today with antibiotics is to take until symptoms have disappeared for two days rather than always finishing the course.
