Question
I have to take geodon for depression and anixety and I have pre diabetes , will geodon give me type 2 diabetes . Im scared to take geodon I dont like the way it makes me feel . The shrink says i have a chemical imbalance in my head . Im always cold from the anixtey . I dont want type 2 from this stupid pill .

Answer
Dear Johnny

Checking your blood sugar occasionally while on Geodon will settle your mind and if necessary the drug stopped and another substituted. It is doubtful that type 2 diabetes will eventuate, only type 1. You should have a glucose tolerance test done now to see exactly what your status is and let your doctor decide whether another drug should be substituted now or not.
