Pharmacology/psyllium vs magnesium citrate

Question
Between using a high fiber supplement (Metamucil) and Magnesium Citrate to cleanse the bowel and rid it of toxins, which would be preferable, as far as its effectiveness?  Thanks

Answer
Psyllium (like plain Metamucil)is every bit as effective as the Mag. Citrate and doesn't have the potential to cause electrolyte imbalance.  I would definitely use the psyllium.  There are plenty of other benefits to psyllium use as well from decreased cholesterol to reduced incidence of colon cancer.

Go with the Metamucil.

Hope that helps!
