Subject: Mirapex & weening off them

Question
I have had a lot of bad systems from Mirapex  So my Dr is weaning me off them My question is .He said to stop taking the 5 .mg nighttime & take 0.25 at night for 5 days than stop Than take 1.0 MG three a day. For some reason I have been taking 0.5 in the day and 1 mg at night Is this more than I was suppose to take / Also the script the Dr. gave me is for 0.5  one in AM two at HS isn't that more than I have been taking ? And what does HS mean ? It is Sunday and I can't wait until Monday to call my Dr. I need to know now Thank you Loraine

Answer
It sound like for today you would take 0.25mg at night tonight.  That should get you through today so you can call your doctor tomorrow and clarify any future prescriptions.  If your doctor is weaning you off Mirapex due to side effects you need to talk to him/her about why he wants to start taking them again.

On the prescription with directions "HS" means at bedtime.

You will need to clarify all future Mirapex prescriptions with your doctor to make sure you should be continuing with this drug and if so, at what dose.

Thanks
