Question Can you take 37.5 mg. Phentermine and Lexapro 10 mg. together? Can you advise of any dangerous or bad side effects possible? Thank you so much
Answer There are no specific drug interactions between phenteramine and Lexapro. However, in some patients, phenteramine can cause or worsen anxiety and even induce psychosis. This would work against the effects of the Lexapro as far as any possible treatment for anxiety would be concerned and could possibly cause even worse symptoms in some patients. Phenteramine should be taken with caution in patients with a history of depression or other problems requiring psychiatric care. I would discuss taking phenteramine with the doctor who prescribed the Lexapro before taking both drugs together.
