Subject: alcohol in over the counter meds

Question
I have two questions.....I urine test for alcohol and I have been taking over-the-counter meds that I just realized contain alcohol and isopropyl alcohol 70% vlv....is that contain real alcohol.  I did not realize when I first started using these meds.

Answer
If you are taking over the counter medications with alcohol it is real alcohol.  You should not be ingesting (drinking) any products which contain isopropyl alcohol.  Isopropyl alcohol is also "real" alcohol, but is not intended for human consumption.  It is not usually used in over the counter preparations.

Thanks
