Question
i have on the pill for the past few months and recently i have stared spotting.

when my boyfriend and i have have sex i also bleed during intercourse,is that normal when on the pill

and if no then what could be causing

Answer
It can take up to 3 or 4 months to adjust to birth control pills. If you have been taking your pills for longer than 3 months and you take them faithfully once daily at the same time each day then you should not be having spotting or breakthrough bleeding in between periods. You would need to talk to your doctor about this. It is also not normal to bleed during intercourse. Being on the pill or not being on the pill would have nothing to do with this, it is just simply not normal to bleed just because you have had sex. You need to make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible to discuss possible causes with your doctor.
