Question
My mom is 91, very alert and takes 100mg. of Cozaar & no other drugs. Her cardiologist asked her to see her G.P. & to start taking Cumadine. The G.P. had difficuly in responding to my Mom is she should take this drug; but he finally sgree she should take cumadine.

My Mom is pretty steady on her legs & uses the car to get groceries every week.

Is this drug safe for her; is there something less powerful she can take. Thanks very much.

Answer
Hi Lewis,
I am quite surprised as to why she has been prescribed coumadin. The information given by you does not allow me to evaluate the need for the drug. I would request for all details about her condition before I can give any useful advice.
