Question Could using expired monostat 7 cause any health problems?
Answer Using any expired drug can cause health problems, the mildest of which would be lack of treatment of the condition due to the loss of therapeutic activity of the drug in the product. You could use the expired Monistat and it could not treat your infection or your infection could worsen because the drug is not effective because it has lost potency. Worse possible scenarios are that the drug or cream the drug is in have changed chemically due to exposure to change in heat, light, or moisture over time. Over time even within the expiration date if drugs are not properly stored light, exposure to humidity, and exposure to changes in temperature can cause stability problems for most drug products. I would not recommend using expired Monistat or any other expired drug product.
