Question Dear Doctor,
I have undergone CABG in Aug-2006. Since then I am taking one tablet each of SALOKEN XL-25 (METOPROLOL SUCCINATE RELEASE TABLETS) , ECOSPRIN-150 mg(ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID - 150 mg) AND STORVAS- 10 mg(ATORVASTATIN - 10 mg) DAILY.
After about 6 months of operation I am having pain in stomach right side just about two inch away from the middle point of line joining Naval to centre bone of bone cage. The pain is all time but a mild one.
I still have pain in right side of heart area i.e. left to the centre bone cage.
Please suggest me whether these are side effects of long time medicine usage OR the curing time of CABG. How much time it can take to become ok. Shall I consult doctor if the problem is serious. Also what specialist to be consulted
Gupta
Answer Dear Gupta
It is difficult for me to give a definitive answer but I would suspect it is the Ecosprin that could be causing this but you really should be consulting a doctor, (gastroenterologist if possible) to ascertain the exact cause of this pain.
