Subject: ?drug interaction
Question I am taking wellbutrin sr 150 twice daily, synthroid 50mcg qd, Valium 5mg
prn, allegra, flonase. I also have an rx for zomig though rarely take it. Are
there any potential interactions? I've been having a "suffocating" feeling
often before bedtime, I can't seem to breathe in all the way or even yawn,
could that be a side effect of any of these drugs?
Answer Dear Vanessa
The only known interaction with your drug regime (I've omitted the Zomig) is a decrease in seizure threshold with the bupropion and Flonase. I would not concern yourself with this if you have not ever suffered from seizures and it is unlikely even then as it is mainly with oral preparations of Flonase rather than the spray.
The only drug likely to cause this feeling is the Wellbutrin but this effect is not common. It may be worth asking for a change in antidepressant (if the Wellbutrin is being used for depression as it has other uses) and seeing what happens. Otherwise it may not be a drug at all and I would recommend you voice your concerns to the prescriber.
