Question
I am ill.my illness is LĘKEN PLANUS.my doctor said to me ę can use elidel or protopic for my illness.is it suitable?should ę use either of them for LĘKEN PLANUS.

Answer
Topical steroids are usually considered the first choice of therapy for lichen planus.  If they do not work then Protoptic has been shown to be a good alternative.  I could find no documentation in literature to show Elidel as having been used to treat lichen planus, however many studies do say that treatments vary greatly with the individual to provide the best results for their symptoms.  It is not impossible that Elidel will provide symptomatic relief. I would discuss your choices again with your doctor before starting therapy.

Thanks

Barb Judge
