Subject: RE: sensitivity to antidepressants
Question Hi there Eric
I have been taking almost only 2 mg of ecitolapram ( cipralex) for about 1 year now. Any more than this and it makes me so irritable. It has helped with anxiety and depression a lot. But cutting up the meds is a big huge pain. Would it be better to try celexa because it isn't as potent. ? I was suggested Remeron but after reading that it can really put the weight on I am not for that. A friend takes her remeron only as needed.... not sure if that would work or not. Can you shed some light please?
Answer Hi Christy,
There are several antidepressants available on the market. It is sometimes a matter of trial and error. You need to discuss with your doctor the different options available. Was cipralex the first antidepressant you tried?
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
Eric Brandt, B.sc. Pharm
