My father age 74 has been diagnosed with Parkinson, high blood pressure, cholesterol problem, abdominal aneurysm. His medicine prescriptions include lexapro, neupro patch, aricept, carbidopa, correg, simvastatin. He sleeps or is slumps in his chair.  Yesterday at 5pm until 8am today he sat at the kitchen table getting up one time to put his pj on. Today he is asleep from 9am until it is 6pm now. Help me get the answer

Answer
Hi Fran,
Your father is experiencing the typical side effects we see with other dopamine agonists used to treat Parkinson's.
It may be a good idea to have him checked out just to make sure he did not have a small stroke.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
Eric Brandt, B.Sc. Pharm
