Question I am from India. For anxiety and Panic disorder I take Escitolopram-10 mg. I have been taking since last 15 months under medical care. Recently I read in leading national daily that SSRI like Prozac lexapro and the like have placebo effect and they do not have other effect. I want to know about the real facts. Can U guide me about the truth I shall be obliged

This is not true. Most SSRI have bee compared to placebo and they have shown statistically significant superior effects, that is why they are in the market. These drugs are scheduled drugs and regulatory authorities do not clear such drugs on poor evidence.
