Question I am nursing my 5 month old son & recently started having high anxiety & panic attacks. And not just from having three kids; there has been a major upheaval in our lives in the last 4 months. But, my OB/GYN put me on Lorazepam (1mg) twice a day as needed and 150mg of Wellbutrin XL once daily. In my research, I have found conflicting advice. I really want to know if it is safe to continue nursing my son? Thank you in advance!
Answer Hi Desa,
Like many other drugs wellbutin is secreted into breat milk. You need to discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits. If you must continue with Wellbutrin I would consider stopping breast feeding- but that decision mus be made in consultation with your doctor.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
Eric Brandt, B.Sc. Pharm
