Question My financee was recently drug tested and came back positive two times for marijuana, the second test showing the levels tripled. He does not use drugs. He has severe ulcerative colitis and takes Asacol for it. As this is also in the Prilosec type drug department, could this cause the false positive? He is on probation and they are considering this a violation of his probation. Help!
Answer Hi Sandra,
Marijuana does not leave the system once it has entered. Additionally marijuana enters the system through breath also. May be he was with people who smoked marijuana. Asacol or drugs of that type would not show up as marijuana. Please ask him to stay away from people who smoke marijuana and not even mix with such a crowd, else he would be in trouble unnecessarily.
