Expert: Eric Brandt Date: 4/23/2008 Subject: Fentanyl Withdrawal
Question I was placed on the Fentanyl patch (25mcg) for three months for pain. When the last two patches were stolen, I was thrown into a severe withdrawal. That was 16 days ago. How long does Fentanyl Withdrawal continue? Should I be hospitalized? What should I do?
Answer Hi Leona,
Withdrawal symtoms can be avoided if the drug is withdrawan gradually. since this is not the situation here, I suggest you see your doctor about replacement therapy to help you get over the withdrawal symptoms. The drug is out of your system now but you need help with the withdrawal symptoms.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
