Question I sent an earlier message I guess to your home e-mail which I didn't get reply however situation changed somewhat
Due to chronic problems with IBS & diverticulosis GI specialist has put me one 8 oz a day of this preparation, normally used for colonscopy prep in much larger dose.
In addition I take Metamucil daily.
Even at one glass a day I ham having problems adjusting to it. I get bloating and frequent trips to bathroom on somedays. I was advised by specialist's nurse that I could reduce it but still having problem with more frequent trips to the bathroom as well as indigestion and bloating.
Am I better to try and return to 8oz, glass and hope system will adjust?
I do have ratio-llactulose which I used previously. Tempted to go back to it. I presume continuing with the Metamucil is okay but the other not sure what to do.
Your advice would be appreciated.
Answer Hi Arthur,
Since you are experiencing undesirable adverse effects from Klean Prep I suggest you report this to your GI specialist. Klean Prep is an osmotic laxative as is Lactulose.I would try to go back to lactulose with the GI specialist okaying it.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
