Question Hey! I have been taking Novo-venlafaxine since yesterday, at one pill a day. My doctor told me to take two a day, so yesterday I took two, and it kept me up all night, which lead me to realize I should just stick with one a day.
Anyways, I have to take 37.5 mg, and it made me sweat excessively. I want to continue with taking the medication, but I was wondering if there was some way I could prevent it from happening, or do something about it.. or if I should even stop taking the medication, maybe just take half of a pill instead of a whole one for a lower dosage? Any suggestions? I'm a very tiny person for my age, so the meds hit me pretty damn hard, haha.
If you know anything about it please let me know!
Thanks!
Answer If you are having side effects such as excessive sweating and insomnia and have only been taking venlafaxine for 1 or 2 days I would recommend talking to your doctor about switching to another drug. There is really no way to prevent these side effects. It is possible that your body may adjust to them and they may lessen with time, but it they don't it may be more difficult at that point to switch medications than it is now when you are just beginning therapy. I would talk to your doctor as soon as possible about what he/she thinks are the best alternatives for you.
